Turkish women's volleyball team: The Turkish women's volleyball team is a formidable force in European volleyball, having been established in 1958. They made their European Championship debut in 1963, finishing in 10th place. Turkey has since participated in the European Championship in 1967, 1981, 1989, and 1995, earning two 12th-place finishes and two 11th-place finishes. In 2003, the Turkish women's volleyball team achieved remarkable success, surprisngly reaching the final of the European Championship and securing the silver medal, their first ever qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup.
